Stuffed Bread Pakoda


Bread Slices- 4
Gram flour (Besan) – ½ cup
Semolina (Sooji/Rawa) – 1 tbsp
Turmeric powder (Haldi) – ½ tsp
Mango powder (Aamchur) – ½ tsp
Red chili powder as per taste
Garam masala powder- ¼ tsp
Coriander leaves, finely chopped
Green chilies, chopped very fine
Ginger paste-2 tsps
Garlic paste-½ tsp
Water for batter
Salt as per taste

For stuffing

Boiled potatoes – 3 medium sized
Green chilies, chopped very fine- 2-3
Coriander leaves, finely chopped
Ginger paste-1 tbsps
Mango powder (Aamchur) – ½ tsp
Salt to taste
Cooking oil


  • Remove the edges of the bread. Keep aside.
  • In a bowl combine gram flour, sooji, salt, red chili powder, garam masala, turmeric, ginger and garlic paste, finely chopped green chilies and coriander leaves. Mix all the ingredients well.
  • Now by pouring little water at a time make a smooth batter (neither too thick nor too lose) The batter should not be too watery.
  • Boil, peel and mash potatoes.
  • Heat oil in a pan and add green chilies.
  • Add ginger paste till it turn golden brown.
  • Add boiled and mashed potatoes with salt and fry till it turns slightly brown.
  • Now add finely chopped coriander leaves to the stuffing.
  • Spread the potato stuffing on a slice of bread evenly and cover with other slice of the bread.
  • Dip the sandwich properly in the gram flour batter and deep fry in oil till it is done.
  • Cut bread pakoda into desired shapes (like triangle, rectangle etc.)
  • Serve hot with any chutney.
