Sattu Paratha


Wheat flour – 250 g
Cooking oil 

For stuffing

Sattu (Roasted chana dal powder) – 1 cup
Onions – one medium, finely chopped
Green chillies – 2-3, finely chopped
Coriander leaves – 1/2 cup, finely chopped
Lemon juice – 2 tbsp
Ajwain (Carom seeds) – 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 3-4 cloves
Masala of red chili pickle – 1/2 tbsp
Mustard oil – 1 tbsp
Salt as per taste



  • Mix sattu and mustard oil properly in a bowl.
  • Add other stuffing ingredients to sattu. Adjust salt, lemon juice and pickle according to your taste.
  • Make dough out of wheat flour, 1tbsp ghee, salt and lukewarm water.
  • Take a small ball of dough and roll it to a small chapati.
  • Add the stuffing in the center and wrap it and press it.
  • Then roll it into a paratha.
  • Cook it on tawa by applying  oil  until both sides are evenly brownish and crisp.
  • You can enjoy sattu paratha with baingan ka bharta.
