Kadhai Paneer


Cottage cheese (Paneer)- 200 gm
Ginger paste – 1 tbsp
Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Onion : one medium, chopped in small square pieces
Tomato : one big, finely chopped
Capsicum : one medium, chopped in small square pieces
Green chilies : 4-5, finely chopped
Coriander leaves, finely chopped
Coriander seeds : 1 tsp
Whole red chili : 1
Black pepper powder : ½ tsp
Cumin seeds (Zeera) : ½ tbsp
Salt as per taste
Cooking oil


  • Cut paneer into cubes.
  • Roast coriander seeds, zeera seeds and whole red chilli and grind them into coarse powder.
  • Heat oil in kadhai.
  • Add ¼ tsp of zeera seeds and let it crackle.
  • Add green chilies. Fry for a minute.
  • Add chopped onions and cook till they are pink. Add little salt to fasten the process.
  • Add capsicum and cook till they are soft.
  • Add ginger and garlic paste and fry well.
  • Add all the masalas that you had roasted and grounded before.
  • Add black pepper powder.
  • Add  finely chopped tomatoes and cook till it softens completely.
  • Add paneer cubes and mix them well with the cooked vegetables. You can also add some grated paneer too.
  • Add the remaining salt.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.

Serves/Makes:  3-4
