Cheesy Potato Balls


Potato, peeled and grated: ½ cup
Cottage cheese (Paneer), grated : 3∕4 cup
Black pepper : ½ tsp
Jalapeño : 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil for cooking


  • Add peeled and grated potatoes to the boiling water for 3-4 minutes till the potatoes are soft but not mushy.
  • Wash grated potatoes under cold running water.
  • Remove all possible water from the grated potatoes.
  • Add crushed paneer and the remaining ingredients to the grated potatoes and mix well.
  • Make small balls out of the potato-paneer mixture.
  • Heat oil in a kadhai.
  • Deep fry the balls in hot oil till they are golden brown. Do not lower the flame while frying because if you would do so then balls will break down.
  • Serve hot will tomato sauce.

Serves/Makes:  2-3
